Meet our Founder
Prof. Architect Ahmed Abouaiana

Dr. Abouaiana is the founder and managing director of MAU Design. He has over 22 years of experience and a robust foundation in sustainability, decarbonization practices, transition strategies, and architecture.

He is an expert in designing green buildings, complying with different rating systems, sustainable retrofitting built environments, and energy and carbon audits. He also conducts sustainability impact assessments and supervises carbon footprinting and sustainability reporting. He has a track record of supervising numerous engineering and design activities and working with versatile stakeholders in the Middle East and Europe.
A member of the Rural Pact Community Platform supports relevant policies in Italy. He provides road maps to inform climate-energy and urban development Policies in Egypt. He has contributed to a book and many publications that support practices and governments in achieving sustainable development goals.
Obtained his PhD from Sapienza University in Rome, majoring in sustainable architecture and built environments. He is an Associate Member of the International Union of Architects and a Member of the Italian Society of Architecture Technology (SITdA), Italy.
He is a public speaker and has promoted many green training programs for the private sector, businesses, and the local community.

He is a professor of architecture specializing in environmental and sustainable built environments and sustainable architecture. He also edits and verifies for many scientific organizations to ensure scientific quality. He was awarded BIG 5 for facility management in 2023 for his intervention: sustainability transition strategy to EDARA-Egypt
